About me

Hi everyone! I'm Emily, from Derbyshire in the UK. I found my gardening passion in the 2020 lockdown. Left with little to do and beautiful weather, I decided to clean the forgotten greenhouse - the rest is history! Quickly I fell in love with the joy of growing, I found it fascinating how a tiny little seed can grow into a huge plant and actually produce amazing produce.

Fast forward a few years, I now have my own garden plot with 12 raised beds and another greenhouse. Recently I've started cut flower growing and arranging which is one of my favourite things to do in the garden. I love how happy flowers make people, and how they can really cheer up someone's day.

My plot now supplies local businesses and cafes with fresh organic veggies and flowers. This brings me great joy as people can taste the difference in homegrown veg, which often inspires them to grow their own too!

My favourite vegetables to grow are carrots, and my favourite flowers are dahlias and sweet peas.

I have a cheeky German shepherd puppy called Bear. You'll often see him causing chaos in my garden on my Instagram page @emilysgreendiary. He likes to dig up my freshly sown seeds and eat my prized carrots.
